Hello everyone, i hope you are all doing well. Greetings from Puerto Rico. I recently got a 2016 Prius C Two, and the previous owner installed a set of LED fog lights, and they turn yellow or white, you can switch between these 2 by turning them off and on again. They illuminate good the road ahead, but the passenger side fog light is dimmer than the driver side, it might be burning out, and if it stops working i would like to install the OEM ones that come with this car even though that is only on the trim 3 i think. I tried searching on EBay but all i find there are aftermarket halogen ones. Did Toyota ever sold this Prius C trim with fog lights in the USA or only in Japan? Only thing i can find OEM on EBay are the headlights. The ones it has now do look OEM as shown in these 2 pictures. If some of you can help me with this, i would appreciate. Thank you. In the picture where the lights are on, the difference in the fog lights brightness can be seen.
Yep and the OEM was white halogen ONLY. Check the ground wiring and all daisy chain points. Also check if it's been wired-in properly, going through a relay, so the switch isn't handling all the current. Those aftermarket wires are usually on the thin side and LED's don't go dim - they just fail. Hope this helps....
Well the passenger side LED fog light is less brighter than the driver side one, maybe it came with a defect then. I found this video of the same car but trim 3, and the fog lights seem OEM LED, i wonder if it's possible to get these and install them in mine, i suppose i would need the part number to find these specifically?
I would expect so; I'd try the same thing. Look out for potential problems like a different bumper cover or some intermediate bracket that needs to be added to make it work. Other Toyotas (including the bigbody Prius) have gained up-trim OEM fog lights pretty easily. I haven't seen any evidence of this on a c yet- but I haven't been looking.
