    Hello all,

I’ve got a weird one for you. I have an existing key fob that starts and stops the car if it is inserted. However, smart key functionality does not work.

Going through the chicken, dance procedure, I purchased a black logo key Thinking that maybe my silver logo key was miss matched with the car. I was able to get it to respond to the silver logo key wirelessly with the lock cycling when I press the button. Black logo did nothing when I pressed the buttons although I was able to program it to start the car when inserted.

Is it possible to just activate the SKS functionality on just my existing silver logo key?

I haven’t found a chicken dance for this quite yet.

    Thanks,
    Boaz

Did you verify the sks button on the dash under the steering wheel is in the 'on' position?

    ... being the Out position?

The button disables the SKS, so In is disabled and Out is enabled.

Does your silver fob have a good battery? (do you see a small red LED blink on it when you press a fob button?

The chicken dance or a capable scantool can only add a (new) SKS fob if you have a fully functional one present.

It sounds like you have an "all keys lost" scenario. You would need a capable locksmith (or the dealer) to get a special code to reset the immobilizer ecu and then program new fobs.

It has a good battery in it. The light lights up.

Do you know if there is an online directory of these good locksmiths?
