Do you remember where you read that? I'm seeing that overall (not just CA), 70% of Tesla owners and 52% of other EV owners would buy another EV.

Let me refresh your memory: Optima Hybrid, Sonata Hybrid, and Pacifica Hybrid. Plus an uncountable number of traditional non-hybrid gassers over the past few decades.

    Source?

There is a pattern that every year, Q1 sales are less than the immediately preceding Q4 sales. But year over year, quarterly sales are uniformly up. Both worldwide, and regionally:

Not sure how to call it. I have a 2019 Tesla and bought a 2017 BMW i3-REx for my city car. The BMW reduces charge/discharge cycles on the Tesla and other mechanical wear and tear.

I have some knob and tube wiring still. I pulled out a lot of it once, most beautiful 12 gauge wire, made by Anaconda, looking brand new. I had so much of it that went to recycling. I didn’t see anything wrong except no ground. Whoever did the wiring was a craftsman who knew the trade. I see the ev fires that they say maybe started with the house wiring, but I believe most are the car starts it. It can’t be undone.

    Someone can believe knob & tube wiring is the greatest thing since sliced bread, but the electrical industry says otherwise;

Why Old Knob And Tube Wiring Is A Fire Risk In The Attic | Attic Projects.

The easiest way to explain why it's a fire risk is that it was replaced because of the fires related to it.
Anaconda - that sure evoked memories. Their mining industry was so huge back in the 1800's that they named the town after the industry there. It's just 3½ hrs to the south of us. Closed around 1980 due to cheep copper imports / price crash. Its main smelter stack still stands.

Millions of non-EVs have been recalled with "Park Outside' orders until repaired, due to fire risk. Mostly recently, Kia, Hyundai, and Jeep. But Ford, BMW, Toyota, Jag, and others have done so in the past.

I'm hoping Toyota brings back the V-6 and V-8's when Trump is elected in a couple of weeks...I've been wanting to trade in my 2015 Tundra V-8 but don't want a 4-banger turbo or hybrid...gotta, at least, be a V-6 for towing my camper.

Why not just keep it? The American-branded pickups in my extended family are good for decades.

You’re probably right. I drove this past month with my Prime using only free to me electricity. The electric is great. I ran the engine just to oil it yesterday.

Battery fires are still real. Looking at gas cars burn doesn’t change anything. Is it people are not supposed to talk about car battery fires?

Battery fires are man bites dog. Around here, it seems there's a car fire every other day and when they're announced on the traffic report, they don't mention what the car is, UNLESS the vehicle is an EV, especially a Tesla.

People are not supposed to disproportionately blame one type of car. Such as EVs:

Depends ... does the story point out how statistically a smaller % of ev's catch fire compared to the way more common gassers catching on fire?
No ?? Then the story is likely to sway the gulible.

Here's our rental just to the south of Nashville - some 5+ years ago.

    448128.jpg

One might notice that the lot slopes down hill towards the garage & carport in the rear of the house.

The renters had a couple Toyota pickups. As far as recollection serves - they run on gas? Fortunately a jogger passing by before 6:00 a.m. saw smoke & flames shooting up from the back of the house. All 6 renters got out safely ... their gassers - not so much.

Please remind us again - how it seems 'logical' that there are house fires - apart from EV's - rather than 10 Gallons Of accelerant?

    burntHouse.jpg

    2018-05-29%2004.47.31.jpg

It was a mystery to us that our insurance company never sought indemnification from Toyota Mfg for one of their gassers burning down our house as well as damaging homes of neighbors on both sides. Maybe it's because gas fires are so ubiquitous?
