Hybrid Battery mystery

    Just bought 2 New Traction Batteries from dealership fot $1560 and $1650.
    This part is on old battery but not new replacement.
    Can not see how this works.
    Advise please

    That is a current sensor and mounts to the case so the main power cable passes through it, just before it attaches to the outboard main relay.
