Is your driver side window fully up?

Behavior seen right from get go but was enroute cross-country home so could not really ask a dealer as such

When all windows are up, if I use the controls to force the passenger side front row and any of the rear windows to go up (they should not as they are fully up) they do not (so this is ok and expected-there is no sound, twitch or reaction to go up). Not so with the driver side window-when fully up, using the control to move the window up causes the driver window to attempt to go up resulting in a push effort and sound. When I exit the vehicle I see driver window open message (same would come on the app-repeated messages about the driver side window open (when visually it was not) (have since signed out and uninstalled the useless app). So am not sure if the driver window reacts correctly upon using the button control to move it up when it is fully up (and if that twitch/effort/sound in the attempt to move up unlike the other windows when in fully up position) is normal or indicating an issue. I did put this in a rear window question but thought better to put it in a different thread altogether. Thanks.

You may be able to recalibrate the window yourself - the procedure is in the manual, pasting it below.

When the power window cannot be opened or closed
When the jam protection function or catch protection function operates unusually and the side window cannot be opened and closed, perform the following operations with the power window switch of that door.
    • Stop the vehicle. With the power switch in ON, within 4 seconds of the jam protection function or catch protection function activating, continuously operate the power window switch in the one-touch closing direction or one-touch opening direction so that the side window can be opened and closed.
    • If the side window cannot be opened and closed even when performing the above operations, perform the following procedure for function initialization.
    1. Turn the power switch to ON.
    2. Pull and hold the power window switch in the one-touch closing direction and completely close the side window.
    3. Release the power window switch for a moment, resume pulling the switch in the one-touch closing direction, and hold it there for approximately 6 seconds or more.
    4. Press and hold the power window switch in the one-touch opening direction. After the side window is completely opened, continue holding the switch for an additional 1 second or more.
    5. Release the power window switch for a moment, resume pushing the switch in the one-touch opening direction, and hold it there for approximately 4 seconds or more.
    6. Pull and hold the power window switch in the one-touch closing direction again. After the side window is completely closed, continue holding the switch for a further 1 second or more.
If you release the switch while the side window is moving, start again from the beginning.

If the side window reverses and cannot be fully closed or opened, have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer.

Thanks I will take a look at this (though my window is not having an opening/closing issue as such-I just do not know why the car/app says it is open when it is fully up and closed). The other side 3 windows do not respond (which is correct) to commands to move further up when fully up. However, the driver side window responds to command to move further up when fully up, it tries to and stops (stopping is what one would expect as it is fully up)-just that it responds at all to command to move up through sound and effort, unlike the other 3 windows when fully up-this is the difference with the other 3 side windows. I do not know if this difference is by design or some other reason. Maybe someone here could try to move the driver side window up when fully up already-does it respond or is just silent? Try the other 3 windows as well.

Your symptoms match a badly-calibrated window. It thinks it isn't closed and needs to go up further, and it's only stopping due to the jam protection function because it thinks something's in the way.

Thanks-so that attempt to move up even when it is closed is not the normal behavior. Will follow the steps from the manual.
