Yul Brynner start in an early 1970's movie titled Westworld. It illustrated where robots went very wrong. Maybe that was a foreshadow for the movie series yet to come. Terminator

Glad to know I'm not the only nerd that remembers that movie. During my first viewing of Terminator in the theater in 1984 I thought it reminded me of Yul Brynner in Westworld. Yul was the original Terminator. The second movie - Futureworld - was a good show too.

Sandy Munro brought a sense of balance:

Dangerous like a truck full of explosives driving into Marines barracks in Beirut:
1983 Beirut barracks bombings - Wikipedia

Early that Sunday morning, the first suicide bomber detonated a truck bomb at the building serving as a barracks for the 1st Battalion 8th Marines (Battalion Landing Team – BLT 1/8) of the 2nd Marine Division, killing 220 marines, 18 sailors and three soldiers, making this incident the deadliest single-day death toll for the United States Marine Corps since the Battle of Iwo Jima in World War II and the deadliest single-day death toll for the United States Armed Forces since the first day of the Tet Offensive in the Vietnam War.[1][2] Another 128 Americans were wounded in the blast. 13 later died of their injuries, and they are counted among the number who died.[3] An elderly Lebanese man, a custodian/vendor who was known to work and sleep in his concession stand next to the building, was also killed in the first blast.[4][1][5]The explosives used were later estimated to be equivalent to as much as 12,000 pounds (5,400 kg) of TNT.[6][7][8]

I understand the Jewish Palestinians got one of organizers recently.

We'll have to agree to disagree about Sandy. I've been to Munro Associates twice and have great confidence in his work. So I have two vehicles, a 2017 BMW i3-REx and 2019 Tesla Model 3, based on his teardown analysis.

Sandy preaches many of the same principles that I did when I was working. Quality counts and less is more. Managers should NOT get a bonus at the start but only when the company or project becomes profitable. Finally, don't let procurement override your engineering department, you can't afford the lowest price.

As for EV reviewers of "press cars," they have to shill those products or they don't get new press cars to review. Some I won't read or view because I don't trust them like Doug Demuro. If they don't take parts of the car and do an analysis that turn them into a heap of parts or scrap metal, they haven't really reviewed the important parts. When I hear "styling," I instantly look for another, real source.

ps. Sandy actually met with W. Edwards Deming who I have only followed by his writings and practices.

I do agree the Cybercab is the Model 2. Let's see if we get a version with controls and sans FSD.

See I was kinda worried about that.

The car introduced as the cybercab seems like kind of a crap cab. Terrible for accessibility, doesn't seem all that great for fleet management/rapid turnaround repair.

But maybe it was meant to be the low cost car instead? Hmm...

Sandy has a Rivian which he and his wife enjoy. But she insisted on keeping their Tesla Model 3 for cross country trips with SuperChargers.

If it wasn't in the public domain, somebody did pay for the rights to make a movie based on the book.

    From the article:

"Blade Runner 2049 (Release date: October 6, 2017 (USA)"
    ...
According to Alcon, on Oct. 10, 2024, Musk launched Tesla's new, fully autonomous Cybercab on the Warner Bros. Discovery lot - and the tech mogul used in his presentation AI-created images representing scenes from Alcon's copyrighted motion picture "subsequent to Alcon denying any use of said images." The Tesla presentation was livestreamed globally and subsequently posted or re-posted "over thousands of times with millions of total views," according to the company.

Fair warning, I didn't and won't watch "Blade Runner 2049" either. Sounds like someone is trying to recover the business loss of the original movie. But it could be they have a genuine love the artistic content.
