I have a charging station near my home but I'm guessing from all the hookups, it is a Type 3. Definitely doesn't support my Prime plug. Aggravating, I get to watch every body else charge up and I can't. It's the only charger around for 1.5 hours each direction. I would like to know if there is an adaptor for the Prime plug in so I can use Type 3 charging station. If anyone knows of one, can you please give me the information on it and where to get it. ****ALSO, have you all seen the GOSUN portable car charger that is coming out? They are taking reservations online.
Pretty sure they are talking about CCS, though CHAdeMO could be possible. You can't use them even if you found an adaptor. Those are fast DC chargers, and the plug on your car is for AC charging. Japan Prius PHVs had a CHAdeMO plug. It will be pricy getting that installed aftermarket. Superchargers are also DC, so the adapter bisco links won't let you charge there either. It will let you use Tesla destination chargers; those are AC.
Even if you had the money to source the required parts from Japan and had it properly installed; would that void the EV portion of your Prius warranty? If you really want to plug into that charger, trade it in for a Tesla. Your more than likely be paying higher electrical rates than charging at home.
I believe "Type 3" is an outdated French-Italian connector. Do you really mean L3, the step above L2? For connecting a Toyota Prime to a Tesla L2 station, that adapter is the wrong sex.
