Unfortunately, they eat cats and dogs in China, too. Not only that, but they use endangered and threatened species parts for “traditional” medicine, which is driving many species in Africa and Asia closer to extinction. They need to modernize in that department and do away with such primitive “traditions.”

The MY is no more a sports car than the Ioniq 5. It's fast in some configurations and reasonably responsive but no sports car. Comfort is a trade off I'm willing to take over slightly better handling on a winding road. As far as ADAS is concerned, the Ioniq is on par with my Toyota Rav4 and in one critical way much better. The first day I owned it I literally avoided an accident due to the ADAS system. It was eerie how good it was in the critical moments that everything went south. Ironically the Model Y in front of me didn't do so well and flipped off the side of the road. And I have to admit that I'm pretty biased against the "full self driving" crap that Tesla keeps peddling. How many people have to die before THAT ends up in a class action lawsuit.

The car I drove was white. The issue wasn't the car color it was the giant glass roof. It just allows way too much heat. This has been complained about all over the place so I'm hardly alone. I'm glad I have a metal roof that is insulated.

So, what happened to you and the Model Y in front of you?

There was a thunderstorm that dropped a bunch of hail on the freeway near where I live. The Y was in the left lane ahead of me and there were two other cars. One behind the Y and one in front of me. The Y spun out and slid across my lane inches in front of the car in front of me and launched off the side of the freeway flipping in the process. The car behind the Y hit the Jersey barrier and spun into my lane. The car in front of me meanwhile hit their brakes. I went to hit my brakes and the car said "Uh uh" and pushed back against my foot applying the ABS at full tilt. I turned onto the shoulder to avoid the car in front of me and the Ioniq actually assisted the steering to avoid the car. Of the 4 cars on the freeway I was the only one to come out unscathed.

That sounds like electronic stability control (ECS), not ADAS.

Modern ESC is a part of the ADAS system. It's much more than the old "brake individual wheels" type of a system.
