I was thinking of either doing some debadging or painting badges. I've read that some badges have holes behind them and others have said those same badges don't have holes on their cars. Is there a definitive list of which badges have holes and which don't?
When you pull them off if they have holes they can go right back into the holes if you're not going to do badge because of the tiny three or four holes then you can just clean up the Toyota logo maybe paint it clear blue or whatever it is you want to do and then you can put it right back into the original holes with something like goop just a little dab will do you. And then you're good there The one on the hood the one on the steering wheel have little holes I've taken them off I'm not sure about the ones on the trunk I think I took one off of the hatch release thing but I have to make sure that
Yes the one on the hatch release band three holes in it but it's plastic so you can easily fill those and spray over them should you desire or paint the logo blue like the one on the generation 3 and just reinstall it
If it helps anyone: on my '15, the two hybrid badges on the front quarter panels both have holes, but only the drivers side badge has pegs, the passenger side is flat. They are both pretty fragile, especially when heated to get the adhesive off. The Prius V and big l hybrid synergy drive on the back have no holes, so they can be removed with heat. The Prius V badge is a bit fragile, as well, so he careful with it. I decided to leave the back debadged and I'm painting the side hybrid badges black. I removed the blue strips before paint so I can reapply them afterwards to keep the blue. For the front and rear Toyota badges, they came off quite easily by sliding a thin flathead screwdriver from the sides and carefully popping them off. I'm painting them black and keeping the blue background.
I removed my rear Prius V emblem, and changed the background in the oval Toyota badges to body color- makes a big difference. Details here: Changed background color of Toyota emblems | PriusChat
The badges on the Prius V hatch lid are held on with some adhesive tape. I removed them with some fishing line, masking tape and a heat gun. The hatch lid is not drilled for emblems. I left the Toyota emblem.
