the cat was stolen on my 2002 toyota prius gen 1 and no longer have a spot for a downstream oxygen o2 sensor on the exhaust. I would like to run a simulator on the wires just so i can get the check engine light to shut off. What are the wire colors and their purpose on the 02 sensor? also anyone know a simulator that will work for this?

It's too easy to have the bong for the O2 sensor welded in place You can buy the bung for I don't know $18 or something I usually cut them off cars I have a bunch of them out here in the shop when you delete the cat usually I try to leave the bung in place so the O2 sensor can go there with the required spacer and usually the light will go out We hope anyway The simulators I'm not sure about You can Google the nip and denso O2 sensor It is heated and you can get the wire pin outs and all of that anywhere online for most Toyotas there all the same for the heated type Corolla Prius Celica very similar pinouts will be very similar to where they go to the ECU and what have you but I don't know about the fooling devices you're trying to use It's been a long time since I messed with any of those but generally they're pretty straightforward whether they work is another question.

I have a wiring manual with all the pin outs. Did you just delete the cat entirely? There are cheapo cats on Ebay - less than $100 that have the sensor hole. Are you sure the CEL isn't from the missing vacuum valve?

Does anyone know what each colored wire does? I am trying to hook up this simulator.

It's pretty much a standard you can look up the colors for the oxygen sensor on Google I think the black is the heater hot the blue is the signal and so on I do believe I don't remember all of them by heart but it's pretty universal Believe it or not Toyotas use the same colors all the way back to O2 sensors came online unheated and then added the heater wires not really a whole lot to it You can Google Toyota O2 sensor wires and just plug in a year say 2005 whatever Manuel tell you more than you probably want to know

ok very well. last question the two black wires are a 12 volt source for the heater. Can i use the black wire as a positive?

    blue wire to the signal
    white wire to the ground

I believe that's right the black wires are going to get 12 volt to the heater 12 volt comes to the connector in the car and heats the heater in the 02 sensor the blue wire signal and the white wires ground I believe

ok got the 02 simulator connected and working. now trying to figure out what voltage is a normal voltage to the car on the signal wire.

seems like .03-.04v on the signal wire made the 02 sensor code go away.
