Monday, the Tesla drove Huntsville to Atlanta:
    • 400 mi - total trip
    • 10 hr 30 min - 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM
      • ~2 hr 30 min - business, charging with meals, and biology breaks
      • ~8 hrs - driving
        • two, obligatory Atlanta traffic jams, totaled ~45 minutes
    • $23.54 - fast DC, charging costs
    • Full Self Driving and interventions
      • two brake events: "no turn on red" and left-turn, approaching car
      • ~30 min - 'soft resets' while driving which reverts to manual driving
This "day trip" would have been impractical in fatigue, time, and cost in either my current 2017 BMW i3-REx or former 2017 Prius Prime. Both would have reverted to gas with estimated:
    • 2017 BMW i3-REx
      • 100 mi EV overnight charging the night before
        • 50 kW fast DC charging, ~3x charging time
        • 7.2 kW L2 charging, get a room at free charing motel
      • 300 mi mid-grade, gas @35 MPG
        • 8.6 gallons @$3.25/gal ~= $27.95
    • 2017 Prius Prime (former)
      • 25 mi EV overnight charging the night before
        • 3.5 kW L2 charging
      • 360 mi regular gas @54 MPG
        • 6.7 gallones @$3.00/gal ~= $20.10
There are others who find either the BMW i3-REx or Prius Prime meets their requirements. For this 74 year old man, the 2019 Tesla Model 3 with Full Self Driving best meets his requirements.

European rats certainly count as invasive species on most of the rest of the planet.

I'll let others decide whether dogs and humans count as invasive species ...

feral non native dogs are invasive. Domestic dogs are something else, it is only if the owners allow them to destroy the environment that they are invasive. Humans definitely invasive outside of Africa ;-). I don't think humans should eliminate humans because of this but humans should be kinder to the environment.

I don't use the lane assist in 2017 Prius Prime because of that. I also turn off lane departure alert unless I'm driving on the highway because even at its less sensitive setting, it's way too sensitive for curvy regional road driving.
