When I put my 2024 PP XSE in ready mode, after viewing the Warning screen, I see a screen that indicates "Enter Privacy Lock Password Current Privacy Lock Password" I have not knowingly ever setup such a password. I do not use the Toyota App. I do not have a Toyota account. Any suggestions to clear this lockup screen ?
I have learned from the PP 2024 MultiMedia Owners Manual 2.8 Vehicle Settings Pages 60-61 'Settings related to security and privacy can be changed' Setting [Privacy Lock] ..."When set ON, entering the password will be required when the battery is replaced ...." I did disconnect the '-' battery post wiring from the battery to charge the fairly new battery for about 4 hours total yesterday. Charge included about 3 hours in Absorb Mode at about 14.3 v charging voltage. The max current the charger can deliver is 7 amps. then Float for about 1 hour at about 13.1 v. The battery then started to settle at about 13.04 v and has currently settled to 12.76 v (about 24 hours after end of charging).
After some deep contemplation, and questioning my wife who delt with the salesman the day we picked up the Prius, I tried her most favorite password. No luck, but learned that I get 500 trys at the password. So I tried my current fav password, no luck. Tried my oldest fav password and it UNLOCKED THE PERSONALOCK on my vehicle. So solution found. I'm wondering if I could have used the Xtool 8S to reset or turn the personal lock off, if I had not lucked out and guessed at the right password to unlock it ?
