I am new to this site and I can not seem to find a listing of beepcodes and what they mean. I guess it is a holdover from work (dell field repair tech)

The three short beeps started mainly when I get a rough patch of road that shook the car a little and not is seems that it happens whenever. Even when I am just sitting on level ground and not going anywhere.

I can only guess what is wrong.
Fluid levels too high or low
    Tire Pressure
    Faulty sensor
    Short in the system somewhere

I have a few mods in the car also

Radar detector is wired into the dome light

    Green hybrid EV chip mod

Computer and Xenarc screen installed for music and gps.

Any help on what the three short beeps mean would be greatly appreciated.

You only get the 3 short beeps when the driver gets out of the car while it is running and closes the driver's door. I leave my car running when I get out to check my mail at my apartment, car is telling me, you left me running!

I would start by removing your mods and seeing if that stops the problem.

I am also getting a 3 short beep warning. No warning lights. I only have the EV mod and have had that for 4 years. Does anyone know how to translate the beep codes? I'm sure the OP would ,along with myself, like a beep code translation and a what to do next.

It seems the beeps are a signal from the EV mode mod. Maybe something defective in the mod or maybe temp or road surface are at fault. I'm going to try some watchful waiting.

I found this paper at the following URL. www.eetrex.com/pdf/0705_WP_PHEV_EV_Mode.pdf Relevant part quoted below

"The EV Mode as part of a PHEV conversion. It is not necessary to use the EV mode in PHEV conversions, yet most PHEV systems rely on it to achieve high mileage (mpg). The systems will do the electrical equivalent of pressing the EV button as
much as possible, so that the engine will stay off as much as possible. If the engine is off, the mpg is infinite, by definition. Therefore, the average mpg as the engine goes off and on, is higher than it would have been without using the EV Mode.
Unfortunately, the Prius changes the MFD screen display when it enters the EV Mode, and it beeps 3 times whenever it ends the EV Mode. Therefore, PHEVs that use the EV Mode change screens and beep quite often."

2013 Prius v five, about 2 weeks ago i changed new hybrid battery, swap in and swap out, have not filled up yet 286 miles down and 86 remaining, although it may be off a bit, car has no other issues, i changed the battery bc i got the code P0A80, aside from the code the the car is still driving the same, but yesterday i started to hear 3 beeps on start up, i thought it was nothing at first, then it happened again, my keys are always in the same place, my pocket, there is nothin blocking, if i step out of the car it will beep, but its not the same beeps, not sure exactly what it is, i will scan it today and see if any codes pop up, i do notice it going more into ev mode, but that's just my normal, i never use the power button unless needed and the ev is always on, wondering if there is something out there that will explain what the codes mean, its like a morse code that needs to be deciphered, but is also strange at the same time, any help would be appreciated, also noticed this is an old thread, hoping for the best
