I have been patiently waiting to hear about when my dealer will be getting the 2025 Prius Limited in its inventory. I have tried to preorder one to no avail and barely get any feedback from salesman that took my info. I am on my 3rd Prius and was willing to even settle for 2024 Prius Limited but again they can’t seem to find one in Pearl White or Blue. At this late stage of the game I am better off waiting on the 2025 but no one seems to know anything.

Is it just the dealers in the Tampa area or is it no longer realistic to think I’ll be able to find a 2025 Prius Limited before year end. I have a 2021 Prius Limited now with only about 14,000 miles that I will be trading. I don’t want anything less than a Limited as I am now spoiled. Maybe Toyota is no longer going to make the Prius and I need to start considering something else - but what? I do love my Prius.

You need to chill a little bit. Toyota doesn't release all their new model years at the same time. I think it's generally August through October excepting brand new generations that might be late(Like the 2023 Prius not actually hitting dealerships until around Feb of 23).

So far, only 8 2025 models are available across the entire Toyota lineup. That leaves 19 models that have not yet been updated for 2025. And just a reminder, the chance of there being any noticeable difference between a 2024 Prius and a 2025 Prius is about 0.0001%.

Will Americans ever realise that cars don't actually change once a year?

You might want to get the 2024 instead, as it should sell below MSRP once the 2025 is in.

It will probably be at the dealers by December. I doubt there will be any changes from 2024, but it remains to be seen. 2023 and 2024 are identical as far as I know.

It depends. Gen 4 Prius Prime had two major updates: The center rear seat was added in 2020, and TSS 2.0 replaced TSS-P in 2021.

Gen 3 Prius—the best-selling Prius ever—had a major taillight refresh in 2012—only two years after the first model year in 2010.

And, apparently, Gen 2 Prius also got a “mid-cycle refresh” only two years into its cycle in 2006 like Gen 3 did.

Likewise, the tenth-generation Corolla in the US got a major taillight refresh in 2011—only two years after the first model year in 2009.

It looks like Gen 4 Prius got its taillight refresh three years into its launch in 2019.

I doubt we will see a mid-cycle refresh for Gen 5 in the 2025 model year two years after its launch like in Gen 2 and Gen 3, but if we do, it’ll be interesting.

And the 2025 Prius should be announced circa mid-October like last year.

My '23 delivered on the first day of November last year, and it was the last '23 they got in at the dealership. The sales guy jokingly laughed and asked if I wanted to wait for a '24 (after waiting 2 months for my car to arrive). They had announced the 24's the beginning of October. All for perspective. The only change was one of the exit/locking tones (or so they tell me). Having a '23 has helped my insurance rate.

It seems to be a scheme, so the "car youtubers" can make a "review" for the same car again

This was actually one of the weird things when watching a "new" Prius review and then realizing its the same guy with kinda the same car just its the 2024 model now ( and he reviewed the 2023 model exactly the same way before).

And the mid-cycle refresh will now happen literally mid-cycle in the 2026 model year if it ever happens.

Like you, I have also become "spoiled" with owning a Limited. I finally located a '24 but needed to call at least three different dealerships. Maybe you can answer this question: What is the mileage range for a Limited in EV mode. Is out the same for all the other trim lines (except the plug ins) at 1 mile?

Unfortunately, I don't know the answer to your question. My husband laughs at me as I click on the EV when I slow down in our neighborhood as I didn't know it automatically when into EV mode if it had enough battery built up. Glad you were able to find a '24 Limited that you like. I'm set on getting a Pearl color and they are hard to find with everything on it.

And the 2025 model should be announced next week or so, which will be identical to the 2024 model.
