Have my appointment for Saturday to fix the doors....when I went online to make the appt, the service depth had Recall of doors as the reason for appointment already as a selection. Will post how it went.

Thats not normal at all. Sounds like they dont really know what they are doing and have to figure it out with your car first.

Not normal at all. There's nothing to check. If the Prius was built before June of 2024, it absolutely needs the recall. No exceptions. If your service dept tries to tell you differently, either tell them they don't know what they're doing or just find a better dealership(if possible).

Definitely, ended up calling other dealership, they made appointment and ordered parts and will knock it out all at once. Who knows, but maybe either the first dealership made a mistake or is actually trying to charge Toyota for more time than needed at inconvenience of customers. Yikes.

Got to the dealer today, they said the parts were in stock, so we waited in the waiting area..they said it would take 3 hours, but it was busy, so ok....

Two hours later, the service guy came up to us and said, sorry, the parts weren't for you, and we need to order them. I asked why they didn't check this before...he claimed the car needed inspection anyways before they knew the recall was needed (although it was on my app and in their site that my exact car was due for a recall).

So I said to the guy"'so we wasted our morning sitting around here, and we have to come back again next week and wait 3 hours" but the guy acted like 'oh well'...what assholes!!

My first biggest regret about purchasing a Toyota is the garbage dealerships, the second one is Toyota corporate.

"Great car, terrible company" has been my official review of this car having quite a few terrible experiences with the dealers.

Called a different dealer and explained what happened...they said they'll have the parts by tomorrow and confirm with me then. They scheduled my appt for Saturday a.m.

I was just told the switch kit for the recall is on backorder when I called yesterday and they're not sure when it'll be available. Not sure if it's area dependent.

Went today....new dealer. They said it'd take ~3 hours....we left Agyros at the dealer to go about other business....about 1-1/2 hours later they called to say it was done
...went back 2 hours later due to our schedule and took 10 mins for them to get my car out and done. Not bad at all...most importantly when driving home local and highway roads, heard no noises from the back at all.

Here in Central California it went pretty well. The US postal service delivered the notice in a timely way. When I called the dealer, they gave me a date that was only 5 days away. Their excuse for the 5 day delay was "to ensure that they had the parts on hand." I opted for an 8:30 am repair slot so that there would be a better chance that no one else would lay claim to the parts package. The car was ready to pick up at 11:30 am.

I saw no damage to the door nor to the roof. I listened closely as I drove into the dealer to drop off the car and there were virtually no noises. I followed the same path on the way out and there was no extra noise nor vibration.

All in all, I'd say it was a total win for me.

Now I can drive it through the car wash again. :)

Got my doors fixed and my second key fob yesterday. I would never drive with my doors unlocked, but the way it rains here in Florida if the doors opened that would be a real disaster, not to mention someone running into your open door, lol.

Had my rear doors recall done today, it was completed in less than an hour. Much quicker than expected! :)

Are you sure the dealer replaced the faulty part? :D In less than an hour?? Why are the dealers quoting 3-4 hours?

Have no idea for sure as I was not watching them, but I would think from a liability perspective and a Toyota-branded dealer, I will give them the benefit of the doubt that it was done. They are paid by Toyota to do it, so why would they lie? Imagine if the recalled part failed after the dealership claimed it was replaced but never did? Legal trouble for sure.

In any case, I asked how it was so quick, and the service advisor said the work estimates are always high to start, but after they do a few, “they get better at it”, lol. Does make sense though.

Anyway, it is done, so I am happy that is behind me now.(y) (Literally and figuratively :ROFLMAO:) [sorry… /badjoke].

Just saying the dealership I go to has 40 technicians most I wound say very experienced
There are 2 very huge glass where you can view the tech if you want
The one that worked on my car I know
So I had faith it would be done with tlc

2 Prius’s came in for replacement of the door recall that day plus my second second key
