I have a 02 first gen that I picked up thinking it was something I could revive with a new HV battery. It is going to take a bit more than that so I am looking to sell it to someone that may need the parts or wants a project.
No rust, not sure mechanically or electrically - I haven't seen it run. Was sitting since 2018. Has 120k on odo.

If it has the OEM cat, that alone is worth $700 last time I sold, more before that. The metal crusher will give you $200 for everything else. A few miscellaneous parts can sell on ebay for a little bit of money. You'd be lucky to get that on the street.

Curious - do you have any recommendations on where to list such parts?

None that have proven to work. Your problem is the same as mine - except for the West Coast states, there are few of these cars still on the road in most areas. The parts that are most often wanted are larger - doors, hoods, fenders, cats, engines, etc. They cost a lot to ship and are a PITA to package so that they're not damaged in transit.

Inversely, there are parts are regional dismantlers - even though MO and TX never had many of this, and now have almost none, the ones that were here are in our local scrapyards.

Honestly, the best value you can get out of these cars once they're not worth repairing, is to buy another Prius that needs only parts you have to repair and make it a good car. There are lots of those at the auctions. You can actually often repair two Prii with parts from one car.

That's why I have so many of these cars, most of which I've paid almost nothing for and repaired for cheap. IMHO, that's also often the best thing to do with a nice Gen1 that just needs a major repair - go find another Prius that has a small wreck/whatever, but lower miles and doesn't need repairs except for wrecked body parts, then use your car to fix it and scrap out your car.

SYK, because these cars have low value and are prone to OEM cat thefts, insurance companies total them out for the smallest wreck. You can find nice Gen1s with repairable body damage that you can fix in your driveway and have a shop paint if needed.
