Anyone get the door lock recall performed? If so, any issues after like rattles and whatnot? Seems pretty extensive to rip apart most of the doors. Extra suck for me because i need to cut off the rain guard as it 2way tape is stuck right on the part that gets replaced.
Had it done Wednesday. Noticed a tiny bit of new noise by my head towards the end of my drive tonight. I think it was probably just the particular angle and speed of the wind and rain, but it could possibly be a misadjusted window. I'll pay special attention to any new noises tomorrow (15 more hours of driving home). I suspect very few people will have issues. The doors are built well enough that you should be able to disassemble and reassemble them 3 or 4 times before issues develop. (I've had my front doors apart that many times and the passenger door is just beginning to have issues because one of the plastic anchors is now half stripped out. If I have to take in apart again, I'll need to order a new anchor to prevent rattles.) SM-S901U ?
Already completed the other day, took about 4hrs and got my keyfob at the same time. No problems of yet
I just got the paper letter late last week, will be scheduling it (with trepidation) this week. My experiences at the dealership have been not so great. Here's hoping it is uneventful. will
Mine's scheduled for next Tuesday. Not looking forward to sitting in the lobby for the five hours they anticipate it taking!
Got mine done last Sat...done in 2 hours. No.muss no fuss. New dealer for service was mostly great except for a tad unorginization, but that was very minor.
Same here. Called the dealer, and he ordered the parts (apparently they don't automatically send them. Apparently I was the first person to respond to the notice. He was unsure how long the parts would take.
Got recall notices last week for both cars; not in a rush to schedule this. Let 'em do a few others first!
Took our 2024 Prime to the dealer for the 5000 mile checkup, 2nd key, and the door handle recall. Got the first two done but they said the recall parts were backordered so that will require a 2nd trip. Anyone know if they really are backordered now or if they just maybe forgot to order them ahead of the appointment? KH
Maybe. If it were my dealer, I would believe him. The service manager is terrific and I know I can trust what he says.
Hah! That was my plan but I've only seen a few other newest gen prius on the roads, so I am pretty sure I'll end up being one of the first to get it done at my dealership. At the end of the day, what's the difference between being the first and the fifth? It's unlikely they'll have one tech doing this job for all the prius that go into the dealer I got the car from. So even if 2 or 3 do go before me, my tech might be doing his first too. And I doubt there will have been 10 under the tech's belt by the time I get there. Right now life is busy, so I'll probably wait a few more weeks. The fact the doors auto-lock as a bandaid has worked so far, so I'm okay with waiting a *tiny* bit longer.
Mine will be installed Saturday. It seems that they have a built in 3 to 6 day delay to order the parts.
