Hi. Could someone help me. I'm having a problem with my Prius Prime plug-in. I was working with headlamps. Took the front bumper off. I was finnishing with my headlamp job and suddenly car has a lot of faults on dash. Took the computer, checked the faults and it appears that Hybrid control module no longe communicates. I have fault code in ECU- u0293. Firstly, started to check fuses, it's okay, no blown fuses. Checked the ground- OK. Recharged the 12volt battery. And it's the same- no communication with Hybrid control unit. Checked the powers and grounds on Hybrid control unit- everything seems okay. The car can start and drive, but with a lot of faults on dash and also no green "ready" on dash. What could be the problem? Hybrid control module died out of nowhere? What should i check next? Thank you.

It may have to with safety sensors. I would buy the $25 repair manual online from Toyota, two day use, and go through the procedures of removing and installing headlights or only the bumper. While having the manual, copy and send to yourself as much repair manual as you can.

Here is a post you can refer to for information on troubleshooting a P0293 code.

That post is for gen 3, so its specific list of which ECUs in the car can report P0293 might not be quite right for a Prime. But the basic information about why it's helpful to also know which ECU(s) reported the code, and where to find the troubleshooting info, will still hold up. You might also find it useful to keep reading in that thread after that post.
