Just picked up a 2012 that needs a head gasket. Was looking to use the felpro HG but still need all the other gaskets that get replaced while doing the job. Does Toyota make a kit that has all the gaskets minus the actual head gasket? Thanks in advance
Yeah what's the mileage look what I just told the guy or girl above If you're going to take on this thing and do this would be good to have a look at your timing cover oil pump timing chain guides tensioner that sort of thing You're dealing with this I'm assuming it fairly high mileage so all of those things are starting to become suspect parts you'll need to check your piston deck height and the extension over the deck needs to be rectified A rod could be bent etc depending upon how much running it's done with the head gasket seeping You can afford to have the valves ground and stuff like that good move or take a remanufactured head from any of the many remanufacturers for about three and a quarter for the two ZZ I do believe things like that once you have this bad boy back together and it overheats or something goes wrong you're right back where you started almost instantly I've seen it happen at least once or twice quite expensive
Toyota Kit (Engine overhaul). I haven't used approx half of included parts there, likely cheaper to buy what you need separately. High quality parts when comparing to the Fel-pro head gasket kit. Toyota Headgasket Kit by bkman posted Jul 19, 2024 at 7:48 PM
Attached has the Toyota kit part number, ditto for head bolts. My 2 cents: I’d use the Toyota head gasket. pros and cons
