My car stopped dead. Many error etc. on dash. Took to Dealership. Found rodent poop and pee on Buss bar and chewed wire. Price for Fix - $20k. So I assumed they were not interested in a repair? Watched all the WeberAuto videos and removed the batter cover. Yes Stack 5 looks dirty and chewed. Safety circuit plug removed, and 12 v system disconnected. So how can I clean and repair in place the terminales etc. Anyone have experience? Rochester, NY
They probably didn’t want to open a can of worms, it’s impossible to know how much damage there is and you can only repair one thing at a time. Idk if it can be cleaned in place, but there are plenty of threads and videos on cleaning up the inside of the battery. That’s an interesting code, I can’t find anything on google
That should be covered by your Comprehensive (damage other than collision) Car Insurance. I don't know the value of your car but I'd call my insurance agent and see what he/she says.
If you want I can stop by and show you the docs and give a few hints on how to pull bank 5 and repair or replace. I'm at turning point
If you repair be sure to mesh the rodent entry points, to avoid a repeat. Assuming similar to Gen 3, the cabin air intake’s on the firewall, just below wipers/cowl, and there’s air exit ports at the rear corners in hatch, below floor.
