Are there any guides for removal of a non-NAV radio? I saw someone had done it and was going to post a guide. I have done lots of stereo work but hate to scratch up my new dash. Looking for pointers before I just go for it.
PriusXM sells their instructional DVD on their site: http://www.priusxm.com/ This covers the installation of the XM radio kit, which involves removing the stereo. I ordered one, and it came with a written list of steps, although watching the DVD first was immensely helpful (pretty much necessary for me). The installation involves pretty much taking the entire dashboard apart, and I don't think taking the whole dash apart is necessary if you just want to remove the radio, but I did it awhile ago so I can't remember the specifics. Maybe if you email them at PriusXM they would be willing to send you their written instructions, who knows. I know I wouldn't want to attempt the procedure without a good set of instructions though, but then again I love this car too much to risk messing something up and would have felt differently about my previous car.
here are the steps i took to remove mine: http://priuschat.com/forums/prius-modifications/46316-radio-removal-tips-pictures.html#post605561 I hope it helps. Manny
