aloha ... so the other day my cruise control light decided to stay lit up and then the next day when I tried to turn on my cruise control it wouldn't turn on. I have visually checked both front seat electrical plug ins under the seats and they look good....tried to disconnect battery to reset...also didn't work....when I looked at the fuse box under the hood I did not see one that referenced the airbag nor the CC. Anybody have any suggestions on how I can fix this problem? Mahalo Kevin

I would suggest a code reader for a Prius and see if there are any codes....
    Then post them here.

Isn't there a fuse box behind the little door in the console or in the dash under the dash like where your left knee is when driving or something along those lines I think that's where your SRS and all of that fuses are

I only have a TORQUE OB2 reader....$15.00 and no codes...bought the autelAP2500E but it wouldn't work with my phone or laptop so returned it. I,ve got an old motorola phone and an ACER that's about ten yrs old for laptop.... as you can tell I'm not a tech guy but seem to struggle along ok! What would you suggest for a simple code reader that would work for me?

Looked there and didn't see it....but it looks like in the owner's book that there is another fuse panel ..... i did see a plastic nut type thing forward from the hood latch but when i unscrewed it I couldn't get that cover? to budge and didn't want to break it ...is that it you think?

The Cruise Control is a few extra lines of code running in the power management control ECU. Those lines of code don't have their own fuse. :) That ECU gets power from the AM2, IGCT, and IGCT No. 2 fuses (and if that ECU were not getting power, cruise control would be the least of your complaints).

Really, the way forward is to get a suitable scan tool and start asking the ECU what's up with the cruise control.

The code is either there or it isn't.
What's on your dashboard? Do you have a photo?

Without a proper code reader, or scanner, you're just guessing.
So you either have to go somewhere that has one, or purchase one.

If you plan on working on your Prius, you're going to have to invest in some modern equipment.
Doing a visual look at fuses and connectors is the simplest and quickest.

    But without the proper tools..........

If one of the abs wheel sensors is damaged or defective, the cruise won't work...
