Is this fact or fake news? Gen 2 Part # G928047110 Gen 3 part # G951047033 List Price: $4,056.50 https://www.reddit.com/r/prius/comments/1eus7a1/prius_hybrid_battery_prices_just_doubled/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
one member in florida, having called a number of dealers recently, reported it as fact. i think he was quoted around $3,000.
I've got two different quotes for Gen 3 (2010) vs Prius v (2012): $2999 and $2588. The v one was $411 cheaper, so I got that one. $2488.67 after a small discount from a dealer + the core charge of $1,350. You're getting the core charge back when you return your old battery to Toyota for recycling. The dealer told me Toyota care about the whole battery P/N (it must match what has been installed on the factory), not sure about individual modules. P/N: G9510-76013. Comes with Gen 4 modules (and sadly no vent tubes - see the thread I started in the Prius V forum).
I just had a new OEM battery installed last week. In my local area, all OEM batteries were sold out from the dealerships and none were scheduled to arrive in the near future. I had to travel 2.5 hours away to Arizona to have the job done. The dealership in Arizona says that many Gen3/Gen2 owners have been replacing their batteries with OEM ones and it keeps their service department busy. The dealership in Nevada told me that the battery might be discontinued, so I don't know who to believe.
