Just finished my first hybrid battery swap on my 2012 Prius v. With the exception of the lifting, the most challenging part was keeping track of the nuts, bolts and plugs, and working in New Orleans heat. I went with OEM NiMH battery because I tend to be risk averse. I found it a good opportunity to clean out 12 years of detritus under the battery, inside the fan, etc. how did this process go for you?
I just dump all the nuts and bolts in the spare tire well then in a generation 3 I don't think there's any brackets to trim or anything to play with they're pretty easy to get out anyway That's about it
i haven't done it, but if i did, i would document everything. i'm the type that finishes and then finds an unknown part left over.
I can’t dump them into my spare tire well because, after a storm blew a tree limb into I95 in Maryland and split my RF rim 270° around, I decided I want a full size tire in my trunk and I had to toss those foam plastic part trays. I kept each set of 2-3-4 in Dixie cups marked with the time stamp of the (disassembly) video I used as a guide. Except for these little ratf*ck bast*rds. I hate these guys. 2010 - 2015 Toyota Prius Hybrid Battery Safety Plug Plastic Pin OEM Pre-owned | eBay
