With less than 500 miles on my 2004 black bc, someone broke my left rear taillight (specifically, the clear lens is broken). Does anyone know how much a replacement unit costs? Can this part be bought on-line? Does anyone know if this part can be installed at home? The damage was limited to the taillight unit (thank goodness). Thanks, foohan
 :computer: Sorry to hear of your misfortune #-o I thought I would try to give some help here  First off I can't tell what the cost of a new one is :dontknow: I'd check with your local toyota dealer for availability, price and part number. Once you have this info you can shop around to see if it is available on the web. :homework: With a little time and care you should be able to remove and replace the unit at home. [-o< : :x-mas:
The driver's side rear taillight assembly is $184 at my local Toyota dealer. Bummer. The installation seems pretty simply. Don't break your taillights!
How about e-mailing Dianne Whitmire at Carson Toyota? Bet she'll give you a price for the part (maybe even a deal)......just to keep your dealer honest.
Is the lens not a seperate piece from the whole assembly? I would also email Dianne at Carson Toyota - they are known to sell parts at very good deals to boards like these. Not sure if she's joined back up over here yet, or not.
:cussing: :guns: TOYOTA :cussing: :computer: I just spent some time to see if your part would appear online. :tomato:  No such luck, '04 PRIUS do not appear online. It maybe that you could do some phone calls if you so want. Just do a search online for Toyota Parts to get some phone #'s and give some a call, I'd look for places that sell factory parts. My guess will be that by the time you pay S&H charges you will not save much if any. Hope this may help and good luck!
