That hack is huge, and has taken down thousands of dealerships nationwide. I was afraid that I would have to reschedule my key delivery, but key was programmed and delivered today.

Just to be clear, the cyberattack was not at Toyota, but at CDK Global, a company that provides "dealership management systems" at something like 15k locations across North America. Not just Toyota dealerships, but dealerships for many brands.

Well, at least that’s a ray of hope!
I was just reading about CDK and the ransom demand in “the millions of dollars.”
    Sucks to be them.

I received my 2nd fob today while getting the 5000-mi service. Two hours total time. Paperwork to follow due to CDK

After a 7 month wait, mine was done yesterday. One hour to program at the dealership.

I got mine done yesterday with my 10k service. The service and key took a total of about 45 minutes while I waited. I was prepared to be there much longer, but was pleasantly surprised. Makes we wonder why some keys take 3 hours.

It's not the key, it's how busy the tech is that's doing it. If the tech that was scheduled to do it is an hour or two behind because the jobs they were working on earlier in the day put them behind schedule, then you're going to wait. You can try to game the system by scheduling first thing in the morning, but sometimes that doesn't work if they have a car from the previous day that needs to be wrapped up first.

(If the dealership doesn't preassign cars to techs, then it can also be if the dealership is overloading their techs. Regularly scheduling 10 hours of work into 8 hour days means something's got to give.)

I bought my Prime in January and received the 2nd key fob today. I would have had it a month ago, but the CDK cyber attack rendered most of the dealership's computers inoperable at the time.

Not sure if anyone here is still waiting for their second key, but Toyota updated their schedule again last week(mostly just to add the newest batch of vehicles).

Basically every Prius built before the production halt in April is currently eligible for their second key. The only owners not yet eligible are those that have just gotten their cars in the last month. Those owners should be able to get their second key sometime around October.

I picked up my car on March 28, 2024 in Canada but still no second key available. Contacted the dealership and they said no service campaign on my VIN for second key yet.

I picked up my Prius mid-August, salesperson said I can arrange to get the second FOB at the 5k service.

I got my letter months ago but haven't had time to goo to the dealer for the fob
TBH, I haven't missed not having it.

I did my own oil changes for the same reason. I don't have hours to waste sitting at the dealer.
    Free or not.

I am going to try to get to the 20K service and get the fob then

We live in Nanaimo, BC, Canada and are the proud owners of a 2024 Prius Prime XSE (purchased mid-April), which we love. After reading in the forum to check the app, I did. Found out that both our second key fob and the rear door switches were available so I went to the dealer today and now have an appointment for next week to program the fob and install the door switches. If you haven't already, check your app under the Health tab for your car's status.

I asked the dealer if FOB's for gen5 are available in the parts department, and they said yes. So dealers have extra FOB;s available for sale, but cars are not being delivered with a second FOB. They also stated that these FOB's have a different part number. So i'm confused.
