Haven't seen a lot of thread on wrapping...

    My Prius is a 2007 with 188k miles. I've put a new hybrid battery into it, and over the past decade, replaced the 12v battery, spark plugs, brake rotors, you name it. I'd like to get another 6 years out of it with the new hybrid battery but the outside is definitely showing wear. I've got a rust spot going in an area that would require welding (above rear tire well), the front bumper is cracked and probably should be replaced, etc. I'm guessing it would cost $6-8k for a full repaint, but what about wrapping as a shorter-term option? Super mixed opinions on Google about this and I haven't seen much here either.

    Wrapping is a 5-7 year solution. IIRC. I looked into it when I had clear coat damage and flaking. I do know that for it to look good it need to be smooth or you will see the imperfections under the wrap. I did sand and wrap the hatchback top above the glass and it came out well. My car is white so Superwhite is easy to match. When I called around a full wrap and full paint job were about the same. $2,000.
    I ended up removing the hood sanding it down and primer,base and clear coat with it hanging from a tree branch with rattle cans. It actually came out really great but it is a lot of prep work. You can do it... or pay someone else to do it. Most of your time is in prep work and sanding. 90 percent. 10 percent paining and clear coating. If I had to do it again and wanted to keep the car I might save up and have it repainted.
