Everything started a year ago, the car stalled because some hoses got disconnected. Placed some retainers to avoid them getting disconnected so car can be driven... Couple of months later after reading about it, decided to clean egr valve and radiator and replaced PCB valve, I think that solved the excessive pressure disconnecting the hoses, and it worked nicer, not rough as previously. A couple of months later computer alerted of a misfire... thinking we didn't connected well or damaged some wires during the EGR cleaning, I just cleared error codes after a quick check that all cylinders were firing. I mean the misfire is not continuous right? The engine was behaving normal, not rough. 2 weeks later my daughter got the engine broken while on the highway, fortunately she made it safe. That was the impulse she needed to buy a new car, but my other son was left without one to drive, now that he got a job we decided to change the engine: $1350 shipped to my house garage, my father in law lend us the engine crane, and it looks the replacement was successful. Later read that for 200 more we could buy Gen 4 engine that had the infamous head gasket issue solved. Just wanted to share so you don't make same mistake as me.
