Hi so did some maintenance in my engine today found some oil inside the intake manifold a good amount of carbon in the throttle housing and then found a ton of carbon in my cylinders. What’s the damage or even the future looking like for the car just hit 200k. Really want it to last atleast 3. Pictures go from 1 cylinder to 4
Oil inside the intake manifold is "normal". Pool of oil in throttle body | PriusChat If you're still worried take a picture of the oil in the manifold and post it here for comment. In theory you might have a bad PCV which would make it more oily than usual. Kind of a pain, as PCV replacements go, but if you really want to you could put in a new OEM one. What did the spark plugs look like? If things were really going wrong they would be filthy. If the plugs look normal I wouldn't worry about any of this.
PCV valve just replaced the spark plugs the threads got some oil on them but nothing dripping was replaced couple months back
heard some people had some luck. Of course it’s not gonna fix it out right. But better the engine wouldnt you say
A few people have put oil catch cans on. Search this site for more info. I would guess that if there is no oil going into the cylinders (it isn't getting past the rings too) and everything else is normal that some of that carbon should burn off, eventually.
Only time I have had oily plug threads was on a car with a leaky valve cover gasket. Were the bottoms of the coil packs also oily?
