Depend on the condition of the socket. If the socket is not cracked, cut off tip of a latex glove and put it over the ball. This will give extra friction/shim to the mirror. If the socket is cracked, either replace it. I've end up putting gorilla glue on the socket. You can still adjust w/ the pivot closer to the windshield
