Within the last six months I disassemble my large battery pack and went through the process of draining and recharging each module. I feel it was quite a successful effort. If you charge the battery to a high level and using the cars AC and lights drain the battery down to 40% at 5.8amps, your battery is considered good if it lasts for 15 minutes (Dr. Prius app). Mine lasted 20 minutes. (265,000 miles no new modules) I still have a problem. While the car drives fine, I don’t think it is utilizing the battery the way it did in the past. In the past the battery would show a charge level somewhere in the middle. Now it tends to charge to almost full most of the time. My mileage has dropped by about 7%. The shortest wire in the wiring harness conducted corrosion through the wire and into the voltage sensor. I would like to replace the voltage sensor and wiring harness. I have found one on eBay but the computer board of the voltage sensor in my Prius has the number 175131-7280 printed on it while the computer board of the eBay voltage sensor has 175131-7170 printed on it. My car is a 2012 Prius 3 4 door hatchback. The sales information says that the part is compatible. Could anyone shed light as to compatibility of these two parts… Thanks so much
The Gen3 voltage sensor harness is different than the Gen2 voltage sensor harness and Toyota won't sell a brand new replacement sensor harness for Gen3, but thankfully Vadim at ACENbay is selling them now: G3 Wire Harness with Bus Bars & Nuts for Toyota Prius (2010-2015) | ACENBAY. Also any Gen3 voltage sensor harness will work with any Gen3 battery ECU it can plug into as long as its 2010-2015. Alternatively, the Sodium-Ion upgrade packs available in August for $1500 allows you to eliminate the voltage sensor harness and its corrosion issues entirely: Toyota hybrid battery upgrade pack - NexPower Energy
I am getting the new Gen 3 harness from AcenBay.com on thursday and will be using it with the new Sodium GT battery. Toyota hybrid battery upgrade pack– NexPower Energy You can also use promo code "azusa" and save 10% at AcenBay.com
I think I have discovered the answer to my question… Voltage sensor part 89892-47080 has circuit board number 175131-7280 while voltage sensor part 89892-47020 has circuit board number 175131-7170. I saw on a parts website that 89892-47080 replaces 89892-47020. My guess is that either part will work on 2010-2015 Prius
