Had a coolant leak in my car converter 2016 Prius and had it replaced
What can I do with the old part?
    Is the leak repairable?
Do I get any money for the cat precious metals? Who woul I go for recycling that?

    Thanks

It's too bad they don't have a bolted joint between the Exhaust Heat Recover portion and the Catalytic Converter portion, of that single piece. Or at least Toyota could author a cut-and-weld procedure of some sort.

Hang onto the old piece? If your Cat ever goes you'd have a spare, that someone could weld in.

Keep your receipt so the recycler didn't think you "harvested" it from someone else's car!

I've read there are less precious metals in the Gen 4 CAT than in the Gen 2 and 3 CATS. I also haven't seen or heard of anyone tearing apart and Gen 4 heat-exchanger to see if it's worth trying to repair.

Hello! The mechanic just did the front bypass for me. In the past few days, I’ve tested the heater, and it works fine. It takes a few minutes longer than usual, but it works. What I noticed today is that the air conditioning doesn’t cool. It only blows air, but there’s no cold air at all, even though the car has been running for 15 minutes. Do you know if this could be due to the bypass? Or could it be that the Freon has leaked out? Has this happened to anyone? Thanks !
