Immobilizer Code Reset Failed (Smart Key Reset)

    Long story short, I have 2005 prius with SKS and I lost the last fob, after a little research I decided to reset the immobilizer (to delete all connected keys to this car) and register a different used key from another prius. I found a third party with pass-code calculator (5 tokens for 25$) but my problem is whenever I try to start this 16 minute reset process I have a fail. This happens because I don't have any keys and I can't start the car (OG - On, one click to the push button) and because of that I can't connect to the immobilizer and reset anything. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Sounds like the reseeding process after the wiping clean of the system is where it's failing. Assuming you're doing this with Techstream? Maybe try a different Windows computer? Or maybe ask an electronic locksmith who does this work?

    Seems there should be a process during the wipe & reseed where the new FOBs are registered into the system? Is it failing before you get to that step?

    Yes, I'm doing this via a Techstream. I don't think a Window is the problem. Unfortunately I'm don't know any locksmith who works with Toyota's or Techstream. It fails right after I put the passcode and press next, there is a notification about that resetting can take about 16 minutes and when I press 'OK' I have the same thing as on a picture. The Driver door is open, the immobilizer is flashing (so it works) but because the power is not ON i can't procced forward.

    Prius Lost All Keys SKS Smart Reset (Program Used Fob) I was following after this instruction.

    Since you haven't followed up in many moons, I'm assuming you have it running.
    Any hints on what process to follow - as I'm in exactly the same stuck you were.

    David. Unfortunately for you I have found that key (it was laying on the ground) and didn't proceed with reseting. The best you can do is to find someone who makes keys, or look more into advanced tools for this job. I remember looking at scanners for $1000-2000 + other devices, that can do this job, but unless you're planning you continue working with making keys, you're best way is to pay that $300 for a new key one. Techstream didn't worked for me and I still have that 5 tokens.

    ... and the found old key still works, so I guess the reseeding never did ...

    Correct. That car got into an accident + ABS module failed (bleeding or calibration didn't help, it was to late). So I just sold it because didn't want to invest into it anymore.

    How did you get the immobilizer reset?
    Techstream V18.00.008 immobiliser code reset fails because I cannot get IG-ON with new key fob in the slot. Pressing the button doesn’t do anything. Mine is without SKS but reseting part should be the same process?

    I got stuck at the same place. I bought tokens, everything works but after short moment immobilizer code reset fails. I didn't found a way and just wanted to pay for that key.
