Project Lithium's "Signal Soother" is Ill-Conceived and DANGEROUS!

I am not sure I usually think of threads on PriusChat as having owners. They have topics, and they have their original posters, who are the bows from which the threads as living arrows are sent forth. I've sometimes made efforts to resist topic drift and keep a thread on something like its original topic, but I don't usually think of one as "mudder's thread" or "Azusa's thread". As long as a thread has an ongoing discussion that's on-topic, it seems cool to me.

Which I guess is to say I'm lukewarm on this proposed split. I won't feel bad if it happens, but I also wouldn't feel bad if the original thread stayed intact. Its topic was testing the Soother product, and mudder's contributions have certainly been on that topic. If split into two threads, there should certainly be prominent posts linking the two together, so a reader who finds one won't miss the relevant information in the other.

 

I’ve been on forums where the o/p has total control of the thread.

I agree with @ChapmanF and think it makes more cohesive to have it back on the original post/thread.

 

Lol they were never going to grant your wish anyway.

Best option is to have forum etiquette and not hijack another persons thread, even if you think you are staying on topic per se.

Keep organized and keep your input in your threads and see how people respond in them.

Like linking your channels in your threads and linking back to your threads.

 

Nevermind mudder you obviously have issues that you do not know about.

Keep up your agenda in trying to smear a persons company.

You leave lots of evidence and proof of your slandering videos and libeling posts and threads.

I highly doubt we will ever see a company spawn from your laboratory.

 

I, for one, am grateful to mudder for doing the work to report at least what the signal soother actually does, as no one else was stepping up to get that information to the community.

 

The assessment(s) mudder has done seems pretty straightforward and objective. Not a slander or smearing of a company. The result of repeatable test are facts regardless of our feeling about the results.

From explaining the soother, and the risk to anyone working on it, it's been helpful info for me.

As an independent hybrid/EV Tech I'm not "scared", but I certainly want to be informed.

I also want to be able to be honest and knowledgeable about products that customers ask me about installing in their cars.

I have always been impressed by the work Jack has done on his products. Not everyone is willing to put their money where there mouth is when it comes to creating a product.

But, if there are issues with that product, I think the creator/manufacturer has an obligation to stop selling that product.

As a small businesses owner I can't take a risk installing a product that I know has lit on fire in a customer car. At the very least I'd need an objective and thorough explanation of what lead to that fire.

 

Just make em sign waivers

 

Let's say something bad does happen, like a car in an attached garage starts a large fite.

Waivers often don't prevent you from being taken to court.

Waivers don't help you in the court of public opinion either.

And ultimately there is still a chance someone might win a court case, regardless of the waiver.
