Still waiting on mine with a 11/23 build date. On May 6, Toyota Brand Engagement Center told me to expect notification sometime between May and August!
At least we got our cars! I've only ever had 1 key for my previous car, because it was old and only came with one of them, and never bothered to get another. Wife and I got used to sharing one key, it doesn't sit on my other keyring at all. Having everything on one keyring would actually feel strange to me funny enough! Of all the things covid supply chain issues messed up this is, ultimately, a minor annoyance to me. It sucks, especially for an expensive purchase like a car. But in the grand scheme of things, as long as I still get the key this summer I'll be okay. Much better than other issues that many others have.
My Prius Prime was built in early December. I’m still breathlessly waiting for my second fob as well.
I purchased my Prius Prime on 12/23. At the time of pick up, I was told I was only getting one key. (Sound familiar?) I was told that I would get the key in January. This began my monthly calls to Toyota each time I was told that I would get a letter the following month. That I was in Phases 2,3, 4,5, and now 6 of the Key Delivery Program. Last week I called and was hung up on by the agent. (I am very calm on my calls and never disrespectful to the agent) and then called back again and said I had to wait till june to call back - I called again today and was told that I would be getting my letter 'next month'. Cant speak with anyone in leadership, cant get any other higher up on the call. If this is the level of support they are going to give - how do we change this? How can we as customers affect change?
Subaru time? Not that they’ll even notice, and it may be outa the pan an’ into the fire, but it feels good.
I've had a 2nd fob waiting for me for at least 3 mos. I told them I'll get it on my next oil change. No big emergency.
That video is slightly outdated already. lol It was uploaded May 30, but Toyota just updated the schedule(again?) yesterday. Nov-Dec builds get keys starting in June Jan-Mar builds get keys starting in August Apr-Jun builds get keys starting in October
I looks like Toyota is slowly catching up. My March 2023 build had its 2nd fob available in late November 2023.--an 8 month lag. It looks like March 2024 built cars should get their 2nd fobs by the end of September--a 6 month lag.
Received a service campaign alert tonight in the Toyota app that my second key is available. No letter yet
Holy cow, I just checked my app and I also have a service campaign for a 2nd key. 11/23 build date here as well. Like buying a spare tire or snow blower, this will ensure that I never need it.
You probably won't see a letter for several months. But don't wait for it. Just check with a local dealer about getting the key.
My 2024 Prius Prime has a December 2023 build date and I just got the service campaign alert in the Toyota app two days ago.
My car is an 11/23, and also just got my service campaign in the app. I don't know when it appeared, I just noticed it when trying to download my digital key... again.
My car arrived at the Dealership here in Canada mid January, not sure the build date exactly, but got the notification in the app for keyfob availability a day or two ago. Already called and they're gonna have it on or before the first week of July, ordering from Toronto.
Just got our 2nd keyfob last week, only took 8 months technically I think I could have brought it in sooner but I combined it with our first service appointment.
Now the dealer is complaining about some hacking done at Toyota. This supposedly is making it hard to program the keys. First I had an appointment to pick up the key one morning at 6 AM. After getting there, they said the key “had not arrived” so they said it would be another week. I’m starting to get a bad taste from all this crap.
