Hey, I'm wondering, is it any sorta way we can mod the car to open the boot/trunk when holding in the unlock key or whatever? Like... Have anyone been able to mod something like that? Thinking about modding my moms car with new stronger gas springs so it helps opens when the boot gets unlocked . But yea... Again, is there any way to mod so the boot release can be key activated?
wow, you guys get a prius lexus? you'd think that would have electric tail gate. sadly, no key fob mod has been done to date. but we're always open to missionary work!
would be cool if that was possible, i see how for example diode dynamics have made smarttap for the flashers, they just made a new realy and boom, arrival and depature lights, u can change flashing modes on warning lights, tap the stock to signal as many times u want it to... like, they just changed a relay? isnt it possible to maybe make a relay and a hatch release. like the relay gets the signal from the key and the relay is connected to the boot release
thats definitely some that would sell... weird no one have figured out some like that yet, the guys that makes this stuff r way to focused on the RAV4.
Since this thread started we have gotten rid of all our Gen 3 Prius’s and gotten a BMW 330e for me and a Gen 4 Prius for my mom. Our Gen 4 Prius now has an electrically operated boot from Autoease.
Thanks for getting back to us. Thats a high price to pay but Im sure you are happy with it. I can get this for half the price if anyone would like to upgrade their hatch. I will be getting this system soon too.
