My 2013 Prius recently had the air conditioner stopped working. I troubleshoot and discovered that the compressor for the air conditioner was shot. I ordered a new compressor and installed it.

during the installation process, I disconnected the negative terminal to the 12 V battery, I pulled the orange plug out of the hybrid battery, and swapped out the compressor. Once the job was completed, I reinstalled both the orange plugged to the battery and the negative terminal on the 12 V. When I fired the ignition, the orange triangle and the check hybrid system pull over to a safe location light came on.

I thought it was strange so I tried removing the orange plug and reinstalling it thinking that maybe I had done something wrong. It was installed correctly.

I tried manually resetting the computer by disconnecting the 12 V battery and waiting for approximately 10 minutes. Again the triangle came back on.

I ran a diagnostic on the system and came up with the following codes:
    P3004
    C1310
    C1259

I tried clearing the codes from the computer once again using the code reader and the triangle came back with the same codes.

Next, I pull the orange plug out again of the hybrid battery and opened up the Hybrid battery enclosure, and tested every cell. All of the cells tested at about 15.5 V. I then used my multimeter and tested the leads coming from the battery going into the line side of the high voltage relay system. The total measurement was 216 V. I had my wife, then turn on the ignition and immediately the two relays started clicking. On the load side leads of the high voltage relay system during the ignition process and beyond I got 0 V.

After this, I accidentally forgot to put the hybrid orange plug back in the battery. I ran the diagnostic code reader and another code popped up, which I believe is due to that plug not being in the battery but I’m not sure. The code was this:
    POAC2

I am not a hybrid Mechanic by any means So I am reaching out to see if anyone has any insights as to what the problem might be? If the inverter is not getting any power, yet the battery has no apparent issues, do you think the problem is with the high voltage relay system? How would changing the air conditioning compressor cause an issue like this? I can’t seem to find any answers online.

Thanks in advance for any help that anyone can give me.

Reinstalling the orange safety plug on the hybrid battery has been problematic for many, might be your problem. If I recall correctly there’s a final step; you need to push it slightly to the right. Failing to do this it won’t be connecting properly.

I do not think it’s the orange battery safety plug. I have pulled it out and re-installed it multiple times, sliding it to the right each time. I also thought the plug itself might be bad so I tested continuity between each of the contacts on the orange safety plug which was fine.
