I have a 2024 Prius Prime SE and live in NY. We have a "clean vehicle pass" program that allows us to drive cars in HOV lane even without passengers, and 24 Prius Prime is eligible for it. But the problem is that the sticker is UgLy. There are decal magnets available online, but I am not able to find magnetic spots in the front of the car. I could find spots in the back and the sides but nothing in the front. Please let me know if you know of a spot. Thanks in advance
If it's anything like California, those stickers are valuable- valuable enough that you'd want more than a magnet holding it on to your car. The whole nose is plastic to make it both safer and cheaper in the event of a front-end collision.
Where I live in Canada green vehicles can use HOV too. But we have front and rear plates, and if you have a green car you get a green lettering license plate starting with the letter G upon registration. No need for special stickers or the like. It's kinda baked into car registration here. Can you not put the sticker they send you on the license plate? And if you're using an unofficial decal that's magnetic because you don't want to affix something to your car paint, maybe there's a towhook accessory you could stick it on to instead? Magnetic or not? Or do you have a license plate holder via the towhook? This would be odd though since the grill, AFAIK, has a plate position that comes from factory so it's not like you're ruining aesthetics by not using placing a plate in the usual front position on this car.
^ took me a minute tor recall that NY state requires front and rear plates (and I even lived there for 7 years.) A possible compromise would be adapting the front plate mount for a dual-plate holder, applying the NYS plate to one portion and applying the decal to the other. You could use security hardware to fasten the works to the vehicle.
Sorry for not writing it clearly The website sells just the magnets. Just black in color on both sides but cut in shape. We need to order the actual sticker from the DMV (which I already have), put the stickers on top of the magnets and then stick the whole thing wherever we want. Have a look at this Amazon listing. Similar to what I shared but for California. https://a.co/d/1LIDheB
1. The sticker is bigger than the margins I've around the text. 2. The rear side is not a problem because I found magnetic spots. Unfortunately, the stickers have to be visible from all the 4 sides 3. I do not. But the problem is the front. Is there any similar product that extends the metallic surface in the front? Yes, I don't want to permanently stick the adhesive to the car's paint. And I want the freedom to remove the ugly stickers when I don't need them.
