most effective thing I have used so far: Completely generic fit, but it's great. The one we have bounces out tons of heat and the real key is it deploys and stows fast so you use it every time. Saves a lot of energy that way.

Yep, I put those on all my cars. My windows are always down 1/4 inch and I gotta put up with the warning while exiting. The car interior will still get warm, but it isn't a blast furnace when you open your door.

Let us know how it works out. I am interested to know how cool it keeps the cabin and if it lowers fuel economy. It looks to significantly protrude from the side windows, which may increase the drag coefficient. Last year I bought a full set of custom sunshades for all 6 windows from the site below. The only window it dosn't cover is the the bottom portion of the rear hatch. Prior to that I used non-custom shades, but the magnets on the side window shades scratched the interior paint and never fit right.
From what I can tell with the heat we had already, it does keep the cabin cooler, not room temperature but definitely cooler. I do have a windshield sunshade specially made for the Prius, but not the other windows. My wife already complains about having to fold that one (and she never put it up) so I would venture she would veto me about all the windows lol. As for efficiency, since I've put my summer tires last March, EV range has creeped up back to lower 40 km, like last year. I even got my highest EV range last week at 48 km, but that's only city driving. I would guess that highway speed is where the drag would be more apparent but we use the car mostly in city driving.
