I have a 2012 Prius C with 125,000 miles. I recently replaced the hybrid battery thinking that was the issue once the car wouldn’t even start anymore and died a couple times on me while driving on the freeway. I got the battery replaced, and some of the codes went away but the only one that won’t go away is P3004. I do not have tech stream and do not know how to troubleshoot this code any further. Is this an inverter problem? I’ve taken the battery in and out about 12 times now re-checking every connection and talking everything to spec. I don’t know where else to go besides replacing the inverter. And yes I made sure the orange safety plug was properly secured. And there is no corrosion on any terminals.. please help!!! When I turn the key the ready light flashes twice but will not stay on. You can hear the battery relays click a couple times but no ready light.
did you get a new oem battery? is the car running okay? you'll need a dealer for the proper sub code, a good hybrid shop, or a better scanner: gen2-obd2-app-review.232741
No just had the bad modules replaced. No car doesn’t turn on. Ready light flashes twice but won’t stay on.
The OP purchased a refurbished battery per his other thread linked here: https://priuschat.com/index.php?posts/3454499 The car is not starting. Read post #1 again. I agree with you that he needs a better scan tool to read all the trouble codes.
Doing anything on a malfunctioning Prius without first doing a detailed diagnosis is a formula for failure. Why would you spend all that money and time on a battery replacement when you could have gotten it diagnosed for a tenth of the cost and time? There are a number of reasons for the P3004 code, presuming the cause to be a bad battery was jumping the gun.
I had a different post with the codes I had before and after I changed the battery those codes went away except for the p3004. I just need help to get my car going again.
