In my old Citreon car I was able to take connection from a fuseboard near Passenger side for DashCam etc. There were wiring diagram and videos for such connections. For Prius 3rd gen, I am not having much luck finding the information. Can you point me to the appropriate content please?
There's a fuse box right in about the same location just above your left knee and a left hand drive car is a fuse box that you could find plenty of wiring to wire whatever it is your wiring.
Thanks, I found this website: Fuse Box Diagram Toyota Prius (XW30; 2010-2015) and Do you know which ones are always powered on & which ones are connected to Ignition? Also, where is the nearest Earth?
You can use a multimeter to check voltage when the car is off (fuse is always powered) and only powered when ignition is on. For ground I just used a random bolt that goes into the metal body in that footwell area and have had no issues so far. Just make sure it is out of where your feet will be so you don't accidently rub or wear down the wire. I shared some pictures and details of my dashcam install here: Vantrue N4 Pro dash cam hardwire front and rear | PriusChat
