My LE has had some damage from removing heavy things from the rear cargo area. Has anyone found a plastic protector for this?
Coming from a farm, we usually use plywood. Easy to cut and fit, and fairly inexpensive. If you don't like the color, I guess it could be painted. You can also buy mats made of recycled rubber tires, which are fairly inexpensive as well.
I saw an antique dealer using multiple thick moving blankets. He said they’ve saved his car multiple times. Obviously depends how heavy your cargo is.
What do you mean by "rear deck" ? Are you referring to the bumper cover on the outside, or the plastic on the inside? If its the Bumper cover on the outside... Just mask it off and spray black plastic-dip spray paint. You can spray it on real thick in multiple coats and peels off fairly easy when its time for a refresh. If you're talking about the inside of the car, follow advice from people above.
Are you referring to something to protect the upper part of the rear bumper from getting scratched? like this rear bumper applique. Part #: PT929-47230 Currently the only thing available, hardly worth the price for what little protection it gives. I've got 3M PPF tape I was going to cut and install myself, just haven't gotten around to it. What I think we're all waiting for is an actual bumper cover/protector.
Mine included the carpeted trunk mat but I prefer something I can wipe/hose off, if I get a minor spill or throw muddy stuff in the back. Cargo Trunk Floor Mat Liner Fits Toyota Models All Weather Semi Custom Fit Black | eBay Got one of these and let it bake in the sun for a few days. It had a weird chemical / plastic smell when it arrived, so I let it bake-off. Didn't want the smell getting into my upholstery. It was big enough for me to create one inch walls on 3-sides. Could've did the trunk lid side also but didn't want to chance the latch hanging-up or jamming.
I'm forgetting the cars that come with the all weather mats include one for the cargo as area well. PN: 9084723520
The all weather mat set also include two covers for the back of the rear seats; is there a separate part or parts for those?
I was thinking of something more like the gen3 style example directly above... that black plastic which would completely save the bumper cover from being chipped etc from cargo. It doesn't seem like anyone makes such a beast?
