I hope I chose the right forum for this cause I’m brand new to this site!

My Prius radio all of a sudden stopped working today, it’ll still make the sounds when I press buttons on the display screen but will not play any radio stations. I tried turning it on and off, I tried adjusting the sound fx like the bass and treble and front and rear balance, I tried unplugging and replugging in my Bluetooth transmitter, I tried turning off and restarting the car, none of this has worked. For a long time I was using a Bluetooth transmitter to hook my phone to my prius but again it just stopped functioning today completely.

I YouTubed a video about JBL replacement but it said the JBL was under the passenger side seat and I went to go look at mine and it’s not there so I’m not sure what I should be checking or what I should be doing.

if anyone else has had the same problem and been able to fix it let me know what you did!

Is there a wiring harness with two connectors there just sitting with nowhere to go?

Other signs of JBL are the front middle speaker dash-side behind the MFD (multi-functional display), JBL marked on the bottom right of the radio faceplate, JBL marked on the front of the front door tweeters, and (I believe) some tweeters mounted on the rear doors front of the door handle.

It sounds like you're experiencing quite a frustrating issue with your Prius radio! While I might not be able to provide a definitive solution, I can offer a few suggestions based on common troubleshooting steps.

Firstly, have you checked the fuse related to the radio system? Sometimes a blown fuse can cause the radio to stop working suddenly. You can consult your car's manual to locate the fuse box and check the fuse corresponding to the radio.

Additionally, since you mentioned that the sound effects still work when pressing buttons on the display screen, it could indicate that the issue might lie with the radio unit itself rather than the speakers or wiring. Have you tried resetting the radio system to its factory settings? There might be an option in the settings menu to do this, which could potentially resolve any software glitches causing the radio malfunction.

If none of these steps seem to work, it might be worth taking your Prius to a professional mechanic or car audio specialist who can diagnose the problem more accurately. They may have the expertise and tools necessary to identify and fix the issue.
