A 2015 Prius II DASH DISPLAY is too Dim to Read!!

    I just purchased a 2015 Prius II. I love the car, but I have a great deal of difficulty seeing the dash display screen. During the day, I can barely see my speed. The display light dial is in the brightest, highest position and the headlights are not in auto, but the light is still very low or glared out by the sun. Is there any other way to adjust this display? Would anti-glare film be of any help? Please share your experience if you've had the same problem..

    did you click the wheel to lock in high brightness?

    Yeah you could try that, but I think in daylight having the wheel just up to that click point the brightness would be the same.

    I sometimes struggle to see the speed display, especially when the road ahead is wet and sun bouncing off. Dash ergonomics, ease-of-use, did not seem to carry much weight with Toyota.

    Are you sure you don't have the light control switch on Parking Lights, or Low Beams? If it's on either setting, the dashboard lights will dim down.

    Try this to get the dashboard lighting to Max. Rotate the dimmer switch all the way up, then keep turning when it stops, it should click up into the Max setting. Max setting is bright enough to see the dashboard even under bright, daytime conditions.

    Yes. It's pretty much clicked in at the highest light. It just isn't bright enough to see well in the daytime. I'm going from a 2008 to a 2015 and still discovering my options.

    Normal since day one on my gen3. Solution? New display? Waste of money.

    Max legal tint on the side windows with 99% uv rejection. Works except for the far right of the display if its very bright AND you are wearing true polarized sunglasses. How do you know if you have polarized sunglasses? Get a second pair and look through both with one pair rotated 90 degrees. They will blackout.

    Very helpful!! Thanks a million for taking the time. Here the fix is far less expensive than I was thinking. All I need to do is break out my impersonation of Billy Gibbons and we're good to go! Toyota should really re-think that visibility problem. Nice mileage on your cars!
