What kind of mpg have you been getting

I get between 45 and 52.

I don't check my tire pressure as often as I should. I know have a pump/gauge combo to help me.

I also have some hills and do quite a few short trips.

All in all I'm doing double what I did in my old car. The Prius is bigger and more comfortable so I'm happy.

Can't wait to see what the new 2009 will offer.

 

I get low to mid 60s, and my wife gets low 50s. I try and she doesn't. Both are '06 Prii.

 

You can look at my signature but I am now officially struggling to keep my Tank MPGs above 54.5 during winter. Last tank 51.58 mpg. Not going to give up though. Anyone know a source for "Summer Gas" ?

 

46.8 on the last tank. But, I live in SAN, where there's no cold weather, but lots of hills. <_<

 

You can see (and click) on my signature for my two Hybrids (one of them is an HCH-2). At the moment my mileage is not as good as it could be because of the low temperatures.
...But when the winter is over I'll be shooting back to summer averages above 50mpg for both cars.

I've had mine since early summer. I've been getting about a 43-46 average.

The thing I love is that I don't feel guilty at all about a lead foot anymore.

Different story in almost any full gasoline car.


Hey! Are you going to change the rims on that civic . Never liked the looks of those, look like the Honda Insight wheels (which was my first hybrid, still going strong).

 

45.9 On my 1st ever tank.... So far on my next tank (less than 1/2 way) I'm at 47 even. I live in L.A. so not so cold, but I do live in the hills.

 

Consistently at 47.5, but I drive just like I've always driven. My commute includes quite a few hills and freeway speeds up to 75mph.

 

I was earning 55-62 mpg in my 2005 (totaled in late October 2005) with 30k miles. I'm now driving a 2007 Touring and earning 47 mpg (1500 mi). Temperatures have turned cold and even with 30k of Prius driving experience, I don't expect my 2007 to return to 55-62 mpg until after the break-in period of ca. 12,000 miles and warmer temperatures.

My insight had Rosy O wheels too. I don't see why having a hybrid requires nice person-ugly wheels.

Unfortunately this perspective often collides with the sense of beauty most of us have relating to the wheels in our cars. I have to admit though, the wheels have grown on me and I see them for what they do. At least I know I won't be changing them on mine.

I am still stuck at around 51-52 mpg through out the year of 06... However.. Its been a while since I checked my tire pressures, but I'm an 04 and still doing pretty good...

 

Just ran the numbers last week and now my overall average for the first 20K miles is 45.3. It climbed a bit over the last 5K miles, from 44.9. During my commute I get close to 50mpg, but the short trips on the weekends drop the average significantly.

I am expecting an apology in the mail soon. What function do they serve? It looks like they almost completely cover up the brakes, so any "brake cooling" function (The BMW 8 series wheels for example) seems improbable.

Either way, Honda has plenty of cars in their line with very acceptable wheels. Even stock Prius wheels are lightyears beyond in looks. Toyota is no slouch in the engineering dept.

 

Now with the cooler weather (40 to 50 F), my average has fallen to ~ 49 from 52 mpg here in the North East.
