Left side headlight loosing Volts

HID headlights in Gen2 Prius are awful... Hopefully @Tombukt2 sees this and shares a link to his LED upgrades that work on HID lenses and allows you to eliminate ballasts that always fail.

 

It's hard to measure those ballast properly You can sit there with your DVOM but it'll drive you nuts so what you're doing is turning the light switch off and back on and the light works for a few minutes and then all of a sudden you know it's off again pulling up to a parking spot looking at a wall whatever your best bet at this point is to buy the a l l a h i d to LED conversion on Amazon and or eBay this is the brand that allows you to bypass the ballast and pick up 12 volts right out of the car to operate the LEDs and the flip your high and low beam flipper and keep everything like factory All you'll do is follow the simple instructions which are stupid easy for bypassing the ballast so you're using 12 volts to power the LED lights not the ballast power which is going up and down apparently That's the easiest thing to do there are some cheaper kits that you can literally plug in the push on connector from the d series bulbs or whatever they are that are in the car now and they'll run right off your ballast But when Dallas performance falls off it may not light up the LEDs so well so many people want to bypass the ballast this is a standard term in this conversion If you're not bypassing the ballast then you're using the ballast which is not outputting enough juice to excite the HID gas in the bulb It may also not be happy trying to light the LED with its lower voltage so you may want to bypass it.
