And thanks to the knowledge shared by this community, my 2018 Prius Four now has a full size spare! South Florida roads definitely seem less threatening now.

    Great stuff! Thanks!

And yeah, I was curious how far the electric battery alone could carry me if I ran out of gas when I first bought my 2010 prius years ago. The answer as I learned it was, not far  only a few blocks I think. I had just bought a pint of frozen custard too... thankfully no damage to the car that I'm aware of so that was my greatest loss LOL

On my Prime 2020, I can't get charging connector to insert fully into charging inlet; and no lock pin is visible.

Welcome. IIRC, the PiP had an o-ring in the charging handle that sometimes got in the way. It was not needed anyway, so people just threw it away. Might it be that your charging handle has a similar o-ring? Another possibility is a damaged connector pin.

After posting 4 times and having the forum Moderator check those posts, basically, a new member will be given normal posting status.
The present workaround way to post images is to disable javascript within the browser one is using.
Many / All priuschat user still are not fully understading why this extra step is necessary when comparing to the ease of posting images before the 2023 server migration of this forum.

Thanks for the info. Now I'm curious...there has to be a contest somewhere on this site where everyone competes to have the best mpg. Right?

In case anyone doesn't know, you need 5 posts before you can share links.

I'm literally using this post as my fifth one to be able to share links for the tools I used (not even affiliate links) to splice some wires and fix my prius lol.

Thanks for the great info, so what 2010 and up year models should I avoid in which one should I buy? do you recommend the one with the solar panel on the roof?

    Welcome.

The 2010 and '11 seem to have more problems and it seems like the 2015 (or was it 2014?) got improved rings.

The solar panel on the roof only runs the ventilation fas to help reduce heat buildup in the sun. But that's a nice feature, that I wouldn't object to having.

This is my second Prius Prime, first one was a 2017, there were plenty around back then. I'm retired so I don't drive much. Round trips are most often around 30 miles. So I buy gas every 6 months, won't charge the battery to burn the gas up & fill it with fresh gas, I'm good for 6 more months I traded my 2017 Prime, 26,000 miles, on a full EV Ioniq 6, I've put about 2,000 miles on it & I'm afraid of it ! As the assist steering that seems to always "take over" anytime it wants, it'll just veer right or left for no reason, very scary, makes for tense driving. It may or may not be a simple fix but I don't think I'll ever be comfortable driving it... Not related, both rear tires are wearing like crazy on the outside. In my 20/20 hind sight, I should have never traded my 2017. I traded my 2016 Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4, 20,064 miles, in on the 2024 Prime, of course it had a dealer mark up. I'll try to sell the Ioniq 6 online.

I must be missing something. I can not for the life of me find a Big Blue post button. I am on my laptop using a browser, Chrome to be precise. I am however not a frequent poster, (but have posted in the past) so not sure if my infrequency is part of the problem, and the button is hidden until I do something?

Update: Ok, I see, I was not following the path to the precise Forum. You have to start from the Home page, scroll down until you find the Gen of interest, then select the Forum of interest within that Gen. Now I see the blue button to post a new thread. Thank you!
