    Daughter has had car for 2 weeks. Baby deer ran out in front of her this morning and she it it. Need to replace some of the parts on the front end, but can't find any diagrams for the '23 XLE FWD anywhere. Fortunately, it only damaged the grill, grill surround and under tray. Anyone know where I can find Factory Toyota OEM parts to replace this? Also, she is getting a Shutter Warning, so I assume the active shutters are snapped behind the grill. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Have searched Google all over and can't find any exploded diagrams of the 2023 front end. Thank you. PriusFE.JPG

    Yikes this sucks. Can’t help you here but my guess would be the dealer.
    These shutters seem to be easily damaged being down low and exposed.

    It's frustrating for those of us who like to do the work ourselves, but the dealership is the only real option at the moment. It's taking forever for Toyota to update with exploded diagrams, and a big chunk of the parts that are in the system we can access, aren't even properly linked to the cars they're used on. Good luck, but I have a bad feeling the dealership is going to tell you that they can't even get the parts right now.

    I think the first part you'll need is either 53102-47230 or 53102-47240 (Grille, Radiator, Lower No. 1), but I can't be sure. One of those is for the LE and the other is for the XLE/LTD. The second one is more expensive, so it's probably that one($282.47 MSRP, just under $200 from dealers with discounts). I would need better photos of the damage to track down what else is needed.

    (I've paid for access to both the US and European Toyota tech sites. Between the two, I can usually find out what the correct part numbers are.)

    Maybe you can find some info in the manuals from here? https://techinfo.toyota.com/techInfoPortal/appmanager/t3/ti;TISESSIONID=KrX9kYtS9nhjmKjmLThKQKpPG05vn7FTw8ZvHmHyhzxzJ9QH03Ls!284408789?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=ti_home_search_docs_page

    Sadly, that's not very useful for finding specific parts. I use it regularly, but it often only gets you the first half of the part number. To get the whole number you need the Toyota parts website, and right now that's a dumpster fire for ordinary consumers. Dealerships and body shops get access to a different parts system that is MUCH easier to use and is far more comprehensive. My subscription to the European version of TechInfo gives me access to the European version of the parts site, and I've been crosschecking numbers against the dumpster fire American site. Sometimes I find what I need, often I don't.

    So for right now, a trip to a dealership parts counter is probably the best choice.

    Damn, that is kind what I was fearing. I have no issue removing the front end and doing the repairs, but hate that I can’t get access to the parts. I do appreciate you taking the time to respond. I can take additional pics tomorrow when she gets home. It is now throwing a CEL, with an additional system message regarding “active shutter failure”. Fortunately, the entire front bumper is not impacted at all, just the grill, the shutters behind the grill and the body color trim piece surrounding the grill. Oh, also the belly pan that goes under the front bumper.

    Take the following with a grain of salt and double check everything you can. I've attached the part diagrams for the LHD European Prius Prime with the 2.0L. They should be the same as a US Prius XLE, but it's impossible to know for certain right now with the resources available to laypeople like us. I'm going to put a list below for the parts I think you'll need from your picture and follow up comment, but do not take this as gospel by any means. I'm not a professional, just an amateur that likes researching stuff like this and is in the middle of his own project using these same resources.

    Prices are Toyota MSRP
    Code:
    $ 70.16  51451-47020  COVER, ENGINE UNDER, CENTER
    $  1.70  90467-07220  CLIP (x2)
    $  1.47  90159-60477  SCREW W/WASHER (x12)

    $282.47 53102-47240 GRILLE, RADIATOR, LOWER NO.1, NO PAINT REQ.
    $  1.12  90189-06237  GROMMET, NO.2 (X4)
    $  0.92  90167-50063  SCREW PAN TAPPING (X6)

    $264.42  53180-47130  SHUTTER ASSY, RADIATOR
    $ 13.88 16695-37050 PLATE, RADIATOR SIDE AIR GUIDE, FRONT LH
    $ 14.31 16691-37110 PLATE, RADIATOR SIDE AIR GUIDE, FRONT RH

    You'll probably be able to reuse the screws from the current parts, but I included what was needed just in case they were damaged or missing. I'm not certain you'll need those last two parts, but you might. You can also look at the part diagrams to find out if there are any other parts that are damaged. The grille above covers everything you'll need for the front of the car. It's the shiny black parts and everything inside. You'll have to swap the lights over from the old grille.

    Rough minimum estimate after typical discounts is $430 plus tax for parts(cover, clips, grille, grommets, & shutter assembly). I use Lewis Toyota out of Topeka because they have a 31% discount on almost everything and you can get up to $200 worth of free shipping on a $75+ order. There are a couple places that do 33% or even 35%, but their high shipping costs are normally way more than the 2% savings. The ordering software Lewis is using is currently having problems with the coupon code(freeship) not working, so you need to watch the final receipt to see if it was subtracted and contact them if it wasn't.

    Attached parts diagrams:

    On the attached parts lists, you need to be looking for these model codes when choosing between parts with the same name:
    MXWH61
    MXWH61..H
    MXWH61..LHD
    MXWH61..H..LHD

    MXWH is the code for the 2.0L engine in all US Priuses. 6# is the code for gen5. Technically your daughter's is an MXWH60, but Europe isn't getting those, so the 61 is the closest we can get. The H stands for the higher trims(XLE/LTD), and that's the grille color you need. The LHD stands for left hand drive. Your daughter's actual full model code is MXWH60L-AHXGBA.

    The important characters if I was able to access the good US parts site would be the 60 and the G.
    60 = FWD Prius
    61 = FWD Prius Prime
    65 = AWD Prius
    E = LE/SE
    G = XLE/XSE
    H = LTD/XSE+

    So my Prius Limited AWD is: MXWH65L-AHXHBA
    A Prime SE would be: MXWH61L-AHXEBA

    All of the other letter are the same for every USDM Prius.

    Brand new car; what’s your insurance?

    if it’s purely that bent grill (very obliging deer): phone a dealership parts department. If possible phone several.

    Insurance is USAA. Definitely not having her post a claim for something that will likely be under $1000. It was a baby deer, fortunately(they are small in South Carolina when full grown as well). I am going to do some digging and have her go down and get a quote for the required parts. If they are not reasonable, will start the process @Hammersmith laid out above.

    Scoured over everything and think you are dead on with the parts. They are on order from Topeka with free delivery and only $425, which is substantially less than I was originally thinking. Local Toyota dealer was $775, but would price match, if I could provide an invoice from a competitor. Not a chance I am doing their job for them. Really do appreciate everything and will update the thread with status once they arrive.

    OK. Wanted to follow up. Parts came in last week, install wasn’t too bad. Have some finishing up to do tomorrow as some of the clips need “snugging”. Now, Can we reset our CEL via the on board system, or do I have to go pay a dealer to do this? I was able to do it in her accord, but I can’t find a setting in the Prius. Thank you.

    Same thing happened to us … but with debris from a truck on the freeway. Anyone figure out the difference in part numbers for the front grill and silver inset? Seems on all primes the same silver inset is there no matter the color of the car. Smart on Toyota’s part; in conjunction without having to replace the entire front bumper cover. however 53102-47230 vs 53102-47240? Which one, what’s the difference! 2024 Prime XSE. I think the 53102-47220 is for the base Prius and all black without fog lights. But the other two - no idea.

    From the European parts catalogue 47230 is the base (E) version - that has non-gloss black plastic. 47240 is the high-spec (H) version - that has gloss black plastic.

    So I believe 47230 corresponds to the USA SE, and 47240 to the XSE (Premium).

    Both those parts have space for the accent lights, and if they're not present (as in Europe) there are separate covers.

    Parts for 2.0 non-PHEVs aren't in the Europe catalogues, but looking at US parts catalogues, looks like 47220 might the high-spec non-Prime (XLE/Ltd) - so gloss black plastic and "metallic grey" rather than "metallic silver". But then I don't know what the low-spec non-Prime part number would be.
