my e-brake, slip indicator, and ABS light wont turn off on my prius. And if the video attachment is working, there is a weird repeating humming noise from what sounds like my hybrid battery that stops once i get over around 40mph. ive had battery and diagnostics run and have all came back clean. the braking has felt slightly off but not sure if that is me overthinking. any advice on what the issue could be? for context, i was rear ended about a month ago and my bumper was replaced at a Toyota collisions center. thanks in advance!
If the warning lights are on, you have trouble codes that should be read with a Prius capable scanner. Get the trouble codes read and then come back and post what they are. You will then receive some help for the codes that you have.
Hey guys i appreciate the responses. I do not, unfortunately i took it to the dealer and it is the R& R brake booster assembly with master cylinder. originally quoted at $5K fix for a car i spent $13K for. Apparently that part has a warranty but is expired, going to do my best to see about getting a goodwill warranty but not holding my breathe. Unfortunately, I also bought this car used at a Nissan dealership, not the Toyota one. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.
Shop around for an independent with Prius experience. The parts might be $600-$1000. It is several hours of work to install and another hour to calibrate and bleed. Get part from online Toyota dealer, some may be in your area. Validate with their online vin check. Find the mechanic shop first.
And no rears. And no regen. The Prius brake actuator is really not much like some extra ABS thing bolted on to a working brake system.
Maybe try another dealer for a second opinion. Sometimes abs wheel sensors go out and what about a brake flush?
