I live in the Midwest so haven't seen a 2020 Prime in person but in looking at listings on Cargurus, it appears to me that the Blue Magnetism color has changed slightly and is very similar to or the same as the new Electric Storm color offered on the regular Prius. Are the online photos deceiving me or are Blue Magnetism and Electric Storm the same color but with different names for the regular hybrid and the prime?
best to look at the name of the color on toyota's website. if it is the same name, it should look the same. don't trust your computer, see it in person.
The 2020 Prime is on toyota.com 2020 Toyota Prius Prime Plug-In Hybrid | Explore the Possibilities It still lists the blue as Blue Magnetism. I suspect it's the pictures online.
We can check the paint code, once someone has access to a 2020 blue one. Here's where to find the paint code: Toyota Touch Up Paint - Color Codes & Paint Code Location
Kimberly, et. al. What prompted the post was that I looked at two Cargurus postings, one from Georgia, one from Nevada and both looked the same and decidedly more blue than I remembered Blue Magnatism being. I've since wondered if both dealers were using the same type of camera (such as an I phone) which might favor blues and that might account for the similarity and the deeper blue. I'll just have to see one in person if they ever arrive in the Midwest.
I think it's a difficult color to reproduce on a computer/camera. On the Toyota website it looks more green that it actually is.
Here’s a couple of shots: Paint code for Blue Magnetism is 791 and that is different than blue storm. There is a Blue Storm pizza delivery Prius here and I pulled up next to it at a light. I can tell the difference .
I have this color and it's interesting. Next to our 2021 Rav4 (also blue) it appears darker blue. Next to a grey or black car and it appears more teal. It also plays tricks on the eyes based on the light. I love the color, especially in a parking lot filled with ugly grays and blacks. I can always find my car
